Welcome to IMAGINE Canada...

Integrated Landscape Management (ILM) is emerging as a systematic and practical means of managing trade-offs and identifying win-win-win situations among complex environmental, economic and social issues.

What is ILM? It is simply any process by which land, water, marine/coastal areas are managed holistically - taking into consideration how decisions in one area, or sector, may affect the conditions in another. To pursue broader, forward-looking development goals, ILM needs to be nested within existing planning and decision-making processes.Herein lie the challenges.

Our website objectives are to compile relevant tools, lessons learned, information, and original research on the use of ILM approaches. Our goal is to provide a forum by which practitioners may interact and share insights on how to deal with challenges to integrating social, economic and environmental considerations.

In our ILM Compendium, ILM Toolbox , and ILM Library, you will find information relating to integrating data, including its analysis, information and knowledge, communication, scenario development, visioning & stakeholder processes.
